Biography

Ian Boorman is the Executive Manager for Strategy & Impact at Y Victoria, where he leads the rollout of their industry leading value for investment framework. This encompasses strategy measurement, social and economic impact evaluation. In addition to his role at Y Victoria, Ian is the Chair of the Social Impact Network Australia’s (SIMNA) Senior Impact Leaders Round Table. Ian advocates for the advancement of social and economic impact measurement and innovation across diverse sectors including sport and recreation, camping and education. Ian’s passion is on promoting collaboration and leveraging actionable insights that inform strategy and ultimately benefit communities and under-represented cohorts – making for a more just world.

Biography

Over four decades, Dr. Jeff Walkley has shown exemplary contributions in sport, recreation, physical activity, physical education, and disability. At international, national and state level he has held leadership roles and provided keynote presentations, symposia, leadership and research related to (1) leisure, aquatics, recreation, sport addressing inclusion and diversity, (2) fundamental movement skills, and (3) obesity. He has a strong track record of creating and sustaining partnerships with industry stakeholders leading to sustained and impactful innovation. Noteworthy of late include his leadership of Belgravia Foundation, leading contribution to the Diversity & Inclusion in Leisure Forums, Reconciliation Action Planning, Community Engagement, Mental Health, and the measurement of social impact and outcomes for participants through programs and experiences provided by the leisure, aquatic, recreation and fitness sector.
