Biography

Carly Goodrich is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in local government and the sport, active recreation, and health sectors. She joined Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia in 2022, bringing a wealth of expertise in planning, investment, and community engagement. Prior to her current role, Carly led the planning and development of open space, sport, recreation, play, and leisure infrastructure in the local government areas of Monash and Casey. In her current position, Carly is focused on building the capability of the golf sector and advocating for its role in creating positive outcomes for communities through strategic partnerships with government. She is passionate about demonstrating the significant economic, social, and environmental contributions golf makes to Australian communities. A key highlight of Carly’s work is her leadership in the development of the Community Benefits of Golf in Australia report for the Australian Golf Industry Council, in collaboration with SGS Economics & Planning. This report highlights the critical role of golf as a community asset and serves as a powerful tool for decision-makers and stakeholders, showcasing golf’s widespread benefits and influence. Carly continues to drive impactful initiatives that enhance the visibility and value of golf, positioning it as a vital contributor to Australia's vibrant sporting landscape.

Biography

Cathy is currently the Recreation Planning and Capital Works Manager at the City of Melbourne. She has a strong interest in supporting participation in healthy and active lifestyles for people of all ages, and a particular passion for children's play and its role in movement and development. Working for the City of Melbourne for the past 20 years, with responsibilities for parks and recreation facility planning and management, she has developed deeper understanding in matters related to city planning. She appreciates the issues and opportunities associated with managing public spaces, the challenges in planning for substantial population growth, and is hugely interested in the 'ecosystem' that supports a liveable city.
