Physical Literacy Critical to Set Students Up for Sport In and Out of School Environments
Biography
Pierre has 25 years’ experience working in the government and not-for-profit sectors to increase participation in sport and physical activity. His relentless pursuit has been through leadership of the physical literacy agenda in Australia, driving inclusive sport practices, and advocating for population health and wellbeing. His experience is skewed to inspiring Australia’s children and youth to be more active and achieve generational change.
Across roles in sport and government he has delivered multi-million-dollar national programs and events, led high performing teams that have developed world-best resources including the Australian Physical Literacy Framework. His work has influenced physical activity policy across the sport, health and education sectors resulting in projects of significant value and impact across multiple population groups and settings.

I am a PE and Maths Teacher at Rivercrest Christian College in Clyde North, Victoria. I am a football referee coach and Masters player and was Head of PE for many years at my last school.

Our everyday is connecting schools, sport, government and universities to champion lifelong physical activity and wellbeing.

Biography
Clare Walker is the General Manager of Game Development at Softball Australia, leading national strategies to grow participation, strengthen pathways, and create inclusive sport environments. She brings extensive experience across the sport and active recreation sector, including senior leadership roles at Badminton Australia and service on the AFL Victoria Board. Clare previously worked at Fernwood Fitness as National Programs Manager and draws on an early career as a Physical Education teacher, shaping her commitment to quality movement experiences for young people. With a long history of involvement in community sport across multiple roles, she combines professional expertise and lived experience to build stronger links between sport and education. Clare focuses on creating positive, engaging opportunities that help young people stay active and connected.
