Rob is a Principal at Peddle Thorp Architects and leads the firm’s Sports and Aquatics projects. He specialises in aquatic and recreation facility design, delivering high-performance and community facilities across Australia. With extensive experience working with local government and sporting organisations, Rob focuses on creating environments that enhance participation, support elite performance, and improve community wellbeing. His work brings together design vision and technical delivery, with a strong emphasis on operational performance, sustainability, and long-term value.

Brooke has over 20 years experience in the leisure industry and is passionate about delivering bespoke and practical plans that are aligned to the local context that build the connectivity and capacity of communities across Australia to access meaningful leisure experiences.

Supporting Local Authorities, Operators and Organisations to ‘Pivot’ from Leisure to an Active Wellbeing Service
Biography
Andy King is Chair of GM Active and a member of the Greater Manchester Moving Partnership Board, roles he has held through the evolution of the GM Moving agenda. He also hosts the Conveners Podcast, exploring how physical activity can play a more central role in future public services through conversations with political leaders, NHS executives and sector experts.
A four-time CEO of public leisure trusts and former National Director at Serco Leisure, Andy brings deep operational insight shaped by senior leadership roles across the public, private and charitable sectors, including Virgin Active and Fitness First. He is a strong advocate for operational excellence as the foundation for effective health integration.
Andy has a proven track record in organisational turnaround and transformation, including leading change at Carlisle Leisure Limited and Your Trust, Rochdale, underpinned by workforce development and strong alignment with local authority priorities.
He is also a qualified Gallup Strengths Coach, working with senior leaders and emerging managers through coaching and mentoring.

Extending Life of Old Facilities with Modern Technology and Contemporary Design
Biography
Thorsten Muck is the Director Commercial Pool at FLUIDRA, where he leads global strategy and growth of several aquatic products implemented in public aquatic facilities, elite sports venues, and hospitality destinations. Currently based in Spain, he has worked extensively across Europe, collaborating with operators, designers, and asset owners on a wide range of aquatic spaces—from large public pools and competition venues to high-end hospitality and iconic architectural pool designs.
Working with several teams across the globe, his inspirational leadership works towards the transformation of aquatic facilities into high-performing, future-ready environments, balancing operational efficiency, user experience, and long-term cost reduction.
Recent projects include the refurbishment and redevelopment of international competition pools, public aquatic centres, and landmark facilities, including Sky Pool–style renovations, incorporating advanced filtration, automation, digital monitoring, and energy-efficient systems.
Previously, Thorsten served as CEO of OASE, where he expanded a global water-technology portfolio with a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainability. His earlier leadership roles include CEO of Thonet and Managing Director at ERCO, with additional senior experience at TRILUX, giving him a unique cross-sector perspective on design-led renewal, lighting, and built-environment performance.
Thorsten is a regular contributor to international aquatic conferences and industry forums, including presenting at the Piscine Global / Piscina & Wellness International event in Barcelona. He is recognised for building high-performing international teams, forging strategic partnerships, and delivering complex refurbishment projects—from concept and digital services through to execution—making him a trusted voice in the modernisation of existing aquatic facilities worldwide.
