Yvette Audet is a highly respected leader in the aquatic and recreation industry, with over 30 years of experience spanning operations, planning, and commercial strategy. She has served as Vice President of the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) for the past five years and was instrumental in establishing the IAKS Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) entity, helping shape its regional presence and impact. Passionate about IAKS’ mission to “facilitate an active world,” Yvette also contributes to the international aquatic expert panel. As Commercial Marketing Manager at Fluidra Australia and New Zealand, she connects innovation with community outcomes. Through her Sporting Mum blogs and active lifestyle advocate, she brings both professional expertise and genuine relatability to her work.

A Partnership and Network Approach to Infrastructure Delivery
Biography
An experienced leader and manager of public spaces across both the not-for-profit (public) and commercial (private) sectors, including aquatic, leisure and indoor community recreation venues along with shopping centres.
Shane in his role as Regional Spaces and Places Manager with Sport Waikato, provides strategic leadership of the regional play, active recreation and sport infrastructure planning network via the development and delivery of the Waikato Regional Active Spaces Plan working alongside regional and national partners including Territorial Authorities, Regional Council, Iwi, Funders, Developers, Ministry of Education, and Sport and Recreation Organisations. Shane is passionate about striving for optimal social infrastructure network outcomes, focusing on spaces that are fit for purpose for our future communities centred around partnerships to ensure best, and most sustainable, outcomes are realised.
Shane is qualified with a Bachelor of Physical Education (BPhEd) majoring in Sport and Leisure Studies, Diploma of Management, Diploma of Venue Management and currently holds various industry governance roles including as Non-Executive Director of International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities – Australia/New Zealand Section (IAKS ANZ).

Biography
Brett is a co-leader of WAM’s sport and recreation sector and a longstanding supporter of the National Sports and Physical Activity Convention, having contributed to the event for a number of years.
He is known for his commitment to professional excellence, ongoing learning, and his willingness to share knowledge generously across projects and within the broader sports, leisure, and recreation industry.
In 2024, Brett was recognised with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to the Aquatic and Recreation Industry award by Aquatics and Recreation Victoria.
Brett’s design philosophy centres on the belief that “Good design is achieved at the nexus of space, function, environmental stewardship, and technical excellence.”
His recent work includes the completed Adelaide Aquatic Centre, Melbourne’s Northcote Aquatic Recreation Centre, PLC's Joan Mongomery Centre and the La Trobe University Sports Park. These projects demonstrate strong social impact, environmental responsiveness, and a long-term view to performance and durability — ensuring communities can continue to thrive through sport for generations.
Brett works extensively with local government and community stakeholders, delivering a wide spectrum of facilities from high-performance venues to grassroots community amenities. He is passionate about reimagining sporting infrastructure and takes seriously the public legacy of every project, stating:
“The public legacy aspect of what we build is super important and it’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly.”
