Biography

16 year old Abbie is founder of HER WAY Sports Media, a media platform dedicated to amplifying women in sport. Launched initially as a digital magazine when Abbie was just 11 years old to provide better coverage of women’s sport, the platform is a respected accredited media outlet covering many of Australia’s elite sporting leagues and events. A journalist, presenter and keynote speaker, Abbie has now interviewed hundreds of women across sport, and has featured on a number of TV, radio and podcasts both in Australia and globally. HER WAY connects with its audience through short form content plus the HWSM podcast. Abbie is also leading the way for a future sports media that is more inclusive, representative, and inspiring.

Biography

Ikram Mahamed is a youth advocate passionate about community-led change. She is a Project Officer at Culture Spring - a youth-led social enterprise powered by CMY that bridges the gap between organisations and multicultural young people to create meaningful participation, leadership and social impact. As the founder of The Beginning Project, Ikram supports young people from multicultural backgrounds to navigate early career pathways and claim space in systems not built for them. Through storytelling, mentorship and accessible resources, the project centres lived experience and empowers young people to reach their aspirations. With a Bachelor of Public Health and experience across grassroots initiatives and youth leadership, Ikram brings an intersectional lens to every space she’s in.

Biography

Khalid Muse is an award-winning changemaker working across equity, systems reform and community engagement. At just 22, he has emerged as a voice in advancing equity in policy and practice, working alongside peak organisations across the health and community sectors. He has delivered keynotes at some of Australia’s largest public health conferences and at Federal Parliament, with his advocacy receiving national media attention. Khalid is the Co-Founder of registered charity CALM Youth which delivers community-led wellbeing and re-engagement programs for young people across Victoria. Khalid also contributes on an ad hoc basis to peer-reviewed research and academic publications focused on child and youth health. Across his leadership and advisory roles, Khalid focuses on helping systems better respond to community needs by embedding equity, lived experience and partnership into decision-making.

Biography

Mia Victorsen is a regional athlete who has been playing netball for several years and was selected in the Netball Queensland Future Firebirds Regional Program (QFFA), alongside her involvement in the Netball Queensland Youth Advisory Group (YAG), while currently studying a Bachelor of Business (Sport Management and Marketing) at Griffith University and working as a Social Media Coordinator for Griffith Netball Club. She is passionate about creating opportunities for regional athletes and has valued her time on YAG, contributing ideas, collaborating with industry professionals, and gaining insight into sport organisations. Mia looks forward to learning from industry leaders, expanding her network, and pursuing work she is passionate about while making a positive impact on athletes.
